Who is Montserrat?
It’s an island with a volcano in the Caribbean,
it’s a mountain and a monastery between Spain and France, it’s a
cathedral in Bogota, Colombia, it’s also a fearless woman with a gypsy
heart who traveled the world with a backpack,
wrote songs and sung for a
living, lived with the Guarani natives in South American jungles and the
Bedouin people
in the desert in the Middle East, speaks seven languages
(Spanish, English, Guarani, Italian, Portuguese, Hebrew and
Ladino), and
has a multiethnic background that can be traced to medieval Spain.
Miami’s own Montserrat Franco has always had the
need of expressing herself trough music because her destiny was
to be a
woman of art. As the Dominican newspaper El Siglo says, “Montserrat is a
woman whose soul is pure art”.
Montserrat’s wild spirit broke the rules
after she switched from the classical music scene in major European
theaters
and performing in Israel to her new life in Miami, far from the
struggles of being a music student and globetrotter.
But her artistic
soul haunted her because it’s impossible to stop a gypsy on her journey.

Quien es Montserrat?
Es una isla con un volcan en el
Caribe, una montana y monasterio entre Espana y Francia, es
una Catedral
en Bogota Colombia, tambien es una mujer indomable con un espiritu
Gitano que ha recorrido el mundo
con una mochila en las espaldas, quien
escribio canciones y canto para sobrevivir, quien vivio con los
indigenas
Guaranies en la selvas y con los Beduinos en los desiertos del
Medio Oriente, habla 7 idiomas (Espanol, Ingles,
Guarani, Italiano,
Portugues, Hebreo y Ladino) y proviene de una estirpe que se remonta a
la Espana Medieval.
Montserrat Franco, hija de Miami ha tenido siempre el deseo de
expresarse a traves de la musica porque su destino
fue ser una mujer de
arte como el periodico Dominicano “El Siglo” la describe “El alma de
Montserrat es puro arte”.
Su espiritu libre y aventurero rompe todas
las reglas cuando se aleja de la musica clasica y los teatros liricos en
Europa
e Israel para mudarse a su nueva vida en Miami lejos de la
dificil vida de estudiante y trotamundos. Pero su alma de
artista la
vuelve a llamar porque es imposible parar el camino de una gitana.
